George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl
The West Sussex Decorative & Fine Arts Society will be performing George’s Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl (an adaption by David Wood). The performance will be held at Bignor Park by kind permission of Lord & Lady Mersey and we will be there serving soft drinks and alcoholic refreshments.
Petworth Festival welcomes back Illyria, whose production of The Twits was a joyous success in 2012. This lifeaffirming production is compulsory for audiences of 5 – 95!
It’s the first day of half-term, Grandma has written to say she is coming to stay, and George is going to have to give up his bedroom for her. It wouldn’t be so bad if Grandma were a nice Grandma. But George’s Grandma is HORRIBLE. “George do this!” “George do that!” “George is it time for my medicine?” What’s the point of taking medicine, George wonders, when it’s clearly not doing her any good, and it certainly isn’t making her any nicer? So George decides to concoct his own medicine which he gives to Grandma on a spoon – with hilarious results!
Illyria returns with a Roald Dahl classic full of (literally) larger-than-life characters, plenty to join in with, and just a twist of malicious fun! It’s guaranteed to send you through the roof!
The performance is outside. Please bring your own low backed seating or rugs and dress for the weather.
