To mark the beginning of the 2017 season, this coming May, Goodwood is hosting their Festival of Food and Racing in association with Great Taste – known as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world as they are the highest benchmark for fine food and drink. And so the thoroughbreds of the food and equestrian worlds will unite at ‘the home of champions’ – the Goodwood Estate in West Sussex. A fabulous combination of award-winning food and high-quality racing.
Vintage Bar Box is partnering with Garlic Wood for the occasion. From our stunning horsebox positioned a short distance away from the race track, we will be serving delicious antipasti platters accompanied with delicate and refreshing sparkling. Offering the perfect opportunity to be treated to some of the tastiest food and drink, while taking in one of the finest views on the course.
Garlic Wood sell the finest conservation produce for the finest flavour from slow maturing, native and rare-bred livestock in Sussex. Whether it’s free-roaming grass-fed Longhorn beef from the Knepp Castle estate, lamb from the flower-rich meadows of the Sussex Weald, or local rare-breed free-range pork. Combining a commitment to honest, local, high-quality produce, Vintage Bar Box and Garlic Wood will be providing a memorable food sharing experience.
In between the excitement of the races, visitors can also enjoy the finest food and drink at the Food Festival, including organic produce from Goodwood Home Farm and award-winning fare from local artisan suppliers. In addition, there will also be delicious magazine with a delicious cookery theatre hosting live food demonstrations from Great British Bake Off’s Chetna Makan, food writer Lucas Hollweg and, of course, the delicious food team.
Goodwood’s best in show marquee will feature around 30 local award-winning artisan producers and suppliers, each offering their finest fare for visitors to taste or take home. Guests within the Richmond Enclosure can also enjoy a Rooftop Shopping & Cocktails experience on the top floor of the Charlton Stand.
The Festival of Food and Racing takes place 25th-27th May. For tickets visit the Goodwood Website.
