The sound of summer came to Devon with the last in the series of Smoked and Uncut Festival‘s at The Pig at Combe hotel, Devon. Toploader spectacularly closed the event with a their set of classic chart topping hits.

This is the latest rural chic hotel centred around serious kitchen gardens, in the growing Pig Hotel group. Each hotel occupies a very different but characterful property and this is the grandest yet. The former CombeHouse Hotel, it is an Elizabethan Grade-I listed house in Devon’s lovely Otter Valley.

The classic country manor has a mile-long drive through 3,500 acres of stunning parkland before you arrived at the secluded festival spot. When venturing into the building itself, big heavy doors greet you opening onto wooden panelling, oil paintings, a soaring stained glass window, flagstone floors, decorative reliefs, terraced gardens and sweeping views of the lush Devonshire countryside. What’s not to like?

We have loved this year’s season of Smoked & Uncut festivals, and there was no better way to close it, than with this epic festival finale.

With Toplaoder punching out the tunes, the Vintage Bar Box™ luxury converted horsebox bar served fizz a plenty to like-minded music lovers and foodie feasters. On hire to the PIG hotel team, the horsebox was branded with bespoke Hambledon Vineyard signage to promote it’s award-winning range of English sparkling wine.
